We, as humans, crave to find love and feel loved. In our everyday lives and the chaotic world, we’re living in, some days that feels impossible. What I have learned over the years, though, is that everyone should love travel (because it loves you back in so many ways).
Here are 21 reasons why everyone should love travel:

1. To make connections with other travelers
Regardless of who you are or what you do, there’s always some sort of special bond with others who love travel. Whether on the road or at home, there’s always an adventure to share. (Plus, you have the perks of visiting your new BFFs all over the world!)
2. To open your mind
It’s crazy how narrow-minded we can become when we live life in the same place with the same routine around the same people. Traveling broadens your mind to help you see things in a whole different light.

3. To get a different perspective
Similar to opening your mind, but when you’re on the road in a foreign country, you really notice the differences between you and the people around you plus the way they do things. Who knows, maybe they’re doing it better and could give you some useful insights to take home with you.
4. To experience different cultures
You’d be surprised at how humbling it is to be immersed in a different culture. It can truly help you learn so much and have a much more vivid perspective on life.

5. To taste different foods
Okay, America, we get it. You can somehow replicate all of the different types of food around the world right in your backyard. But somehow, it’s never quite the same – there’s always an American twist on it.
6. To try new things
Traveling can awaken that adventurous spirit and give you the courage to try new things that you’ve never even dreamt of doing.
7. To consider new possibilities
Ever have thoughts that it’s time to move or time for a change? Traveling will help open your mind to new possibilities that are out there.

8. To challenge yourself
Especially if you choose to travel solo (which is so eye-opening and I highly recommend), you challenge yourself in tons of different ways. When you only have yourself to rely on in a foreign environment, you’ll be surprised at how many things you’re actually capable of.
9. To learn to not be attached to things or places
Many people tend to get caught up with the “things” they have or a certain place they live in. Fortunately, we can’t always bring all of those “things” with us. Traveling helps us to let go a bit. This applies to places too!
10. To spend your money more wisely
In 50 years, are you going to look back and have fond memories over that expensive Prada purse or must-have Lululemon leggings? Most likely, no. When you put your money towards travel, you’re buying yourself something that can last a lifetime – memories!

11. To have stories to tell
Everyone loves a good travel story. “That one time I traveled to…” always sparks some attention.
12. To push you out of your comfort zone
We all tend to get stuck where we’re comfortable. Whether that’s in a location, in a job, with the same old friends, or doing the same routine. Travel pushes you out of that comfort zone and forces you to be a bit uncomfortable to figure new things out.
13. To escape
It’s so wonderful that we all have a place and a way to escape. Even if it’s just a few hours from home, traveling is the best way to just get away from the daily grinds of life. Plus, knowing you have a getaway coming up is something to be hopeful and excited about.

14. To reset and relax
There are tons of different types of travel – but one of many traveler’s favorites is a reset and relax vacation. There are so many places in this beautiful world that were created for your enjoyment and relaxation. Take advantage when you need to!
15. To open your senses
When you’re doing the same things every day, your senses become dull. When you travel, you get to hear things you’ve never heard, see things you’ve never seen, smell things you’ve never smelled, taste things you’ve never tasted, and more.
16. To find yourself
Whether or not you love travel, being uncomfortable in a foreign place really connects you with your inner self. Many travelers can find clarity when they get away from their home and usual routine.

17. To grow
Every trip I’ve been on, I’ve taken something away from it that has helped me to grow a little.
18. To find appreciation
Maybe travel makes you appreciate something you have back home, or maybe it makes you appreciate something you experienced on your trip. Regardless of what it is, you’re guaranteed to head home with a new sense of appreciation for something.
19. To love your life
Travel can open your senses in a way to just make you feel the most alive you’ve ever felt. It will really make you love your life.

20. To see all of God’s creations
God created this beautiful world for us to live in while we are here on earth. Why leave his artwork to the imagination?
21. To find love
When you love travel, travel will love you back. I know this is the cheesiest thing you’ve read today, but really. The world has so much to show us – through cultures, beauty, experiences, people, and more. When you open your heart up to travel, you’re opening it up to more than just a getaway from your everyday life, but to a whole new world (*cue Aladdin…*).
